John the man on form at Silverwood

THE man on form at Silverwood Golf Club this week was John Marley with a score of 43pts playing of a 7 handicap.

John started his round with a birdie at the first hole and he carded two more birdie at the 8th and 9th to finish the front nine on 22pts.

John’s game stayed steady for the back nine, recording six pars, a birdie and two bogeys to give him 21 pts on the back and overall winner this week.

Second in the 0-12 section was Kevin Monster with 42pts, playing off three, Kevin had a one under front nine for 20pts and a two under back 9 for 22pts. Third in the low section went to Colin Quinn also with 42pts. Colin had 22pts on the front nine and 20pts on the back nine.

The middle section was won by Paul McFadden playing off 13. Paul had 19pts on the front nine and 23 on the back nine. This was Paul’s best game so far netting him a turkey.

Second place in the 13-18 section was Neil Lamont playing off 13 with 41pts. Neil had 22pts over the front nine and 19 on the back nine. Third in the middle section was John Carson with 40 pts, 20 gained on the front and 20pts on the homeward stretch. The winner of the high section 19-28 was Chris Lamont with 44pts. Chris had 20pts over the front nine and 24pts on the back 9.

Second in the section was Paul Johnson playing off 19 he gained 40pts. Paul had 18pts on the front 9 and 22 over the back nine to win a ham for his efforts. Third went to Daniel Mullholland with 39pts. Daniel had 19pts on the front nine and 20pts over the back nine.

Gross winner this week was Fintan McAreavey with 37 points playing off a five. Fintan had a one under front nine with birdies at the 3rd. 8th and 9th and a one over back nine was good enough to give Fintan the honours.

The seniors winner this week was Myles Scullion with 40pts. Myles had 24pts on the front nine and 16 on the back, just enough to take the honours and the ham.

The winter league is hotting up near the halfway mark with Summer Goats still at the top of the table on 475 points with the The Rave Plus Boys joining them on the same score. The Bengal Prancers are losing a bit of ground on 471 points.
