Jonathan Ward beat Harry Burnside on countback but, really, Harry let it slip. He inadvertently played off the wrong tee and then dinged the 16th. These were costly errors for Harry.

1st- Jonathan Ward (4) 39 points.

2nd- Harry Burnside (21) 39 points.

3rd- Colin McKinney (18) 37 points.

Best Gross: Seamus Rooney 79.

MONDAY 16TH JUNE

Merton McDowell won this sweep but all the talk was about how Peter Hillen threw it away.

A relatively easy pitch at the 14th ended up in the ravine and Peter was distraught. He needed a par to win but took eight. Golf can be a cruel game.

1st- Merton McDowell (19) 33 points.

2nd- Neil Clydesdale (6) 32 points.

3rd- Jack Bickerstaff (22) 31 points.

SUNDAY 15TH JUNE

We have a new name on the honours list, that of Joe McGivern. By all reports, he is one to look out for.

There was a major rollover in the twos, which were shared between Neil Clydesdale and Adrian McEvoy.

Adrian’s card was a sight to behold. He was 20 over par after seven holes. Most other players would have torn up. Adrian hit his one good shot of the day at the par three eighth hole and he sank the putt for a two. His persistence was rewarded.

1st- Joe McGivern (20) Nett 32.

2nd- Neil Clydesdale (6) Nett 33.

3rd- Robert Clydesdale (16) Nett 33.5.
