Kelly comes out on top at Faughan Valley at the weekend

An impressive 47 points from Michael Kelly secured the weekend Open Stableford competition at Faughan Valley.

Second place was secured by Christopher Mellon (14) after he finished with 41 points and Glenn Hinds (9) with 40 points was third.

The Council and members would like to acknowledge the diligent work by captain Robert Smallwoods in preparing his team for the qualifying section of the Pierce Purcell Shield.

The team battled extremely well and in the most horrendous of playing conditions last Sunday at Kilrea Golf Club.

Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain as they came ever so close of the target score to qualify. We appreciate the work and time that you all devoted to this event.

Meanwhile the Greencastle Ladies Young Golfers Supporter Fund stableford competition last Thursday was won by Lucia Mullen.
