King’s Captain’s 
Day this weekend

FAUGHAN Valley held its annual Ronnie Ross Trophy on Saturday and once again as previous year the Waterside course had a great turn out showing how popular Ronnie was and still is at the club.

The winner on the day was 6 handicapper Paul Duffy with a great score of 43 points, in second spot with 41 points was Connor Peace (10) and 12 handicapper Robert Mitchell took third spot from 15 handicapper Thomas Parkhill on a break of tie, both carding 40 points.

The Gross went to James Lindsay (2) with a nett score of 71, the front nine went to Alan Cheung with 21 points and the back nine went to Robert Curry with 23 points.

The Longest Drive and Nearest the pin went to Alan Gault and John Lewers respectively.

On Sunday Thomas Parkhill (14) claimed the Monthly Medal Competition with 68 nett, in second spot was Damien Murphy with 70 nett playing off 24, and in third spot was 20 handicapper Bernard Devine with 72 Nett.

In the mid-week competition the winner was Connor Wisner with 38 points playing off 11, second and third spot was decided on a BOT with 12 handicapper Kevin Hunter taking second from 5 handicapper Luke Hasson from City of Derry both carding 37 points.

The presentation for the Ronnie ross Trophy will be on Friday evening time to be confirmed.

A reminder to all members that Cecil King’s Captains Day takes place this Saturday, with the first fourball teeing off at 7.15am, the draw for the day will take place this afternoon (Wednesday), and will be published that evening on Faughan Valley facebook page and the web site, so make sure that you have your names down on the time sheet.
