LAST Tuesday the Ladies first 18 holes competition of the year took place amidst glorious sunshine and with a little bit of added humour.

The competition was the annual ‘Bring & Win’ event. There was a huge turnout and some impressive scores.

The competition was also linked with a charity day for ‘Help the Aged’. All ladies were asked to wear an interesting hat and some of the creations would not have looked out of place at Royal Ascot!

The best were paraded at the prize evening and Miss Margaret Cowdy gave her verdict on the winners. Over £200 was raised for the charity.

Katie Allen won the tournament with a score of 43 points and Zoe Allen came second with 41 points. Linda Hamilton was third with 41 points and Niamh McSherry to the gross prize with 31 gross points.
