Lagan Valley Golf Society holds first annual competition

The Lagan Valley Golf Society held their first annual competition for the Morrow Perpetual Trophy, on Saturday March 7, on the Down Royal Valley Course which was in excellent condition.

Despite the blustery weather, there was a very good turnout much enjoyed by everyone who participated.

The newly appointed Captain, Billy Donaldson, had an excellent round and won the competition with 39 points.

Harold Wilson was 2nd with 38 points with Jim Magee and John Kyle taking 3rd spot jointly with 37 points.

John Kyle also won the prize for the longest drive and Derek McConville won the prize for nearest the pin.

Following a meal, Bill Morrow the Chairman, later presented the Morrow Perpetual Trophy to Billy Donaldson and the remaining prizes to the runner ups.
