Late loss for Bann

Banbridge, captained by Shane McCrory, were five holes up after the home leg, a result which left the match in the balance.

Roy Sipson and Matthew Mallon won the first game two up. Banbridge were now seven holes to the good.

Jim Matthews and Dean Nicoletti were the number two pairing and they lost a very tight game by one hole. It was still looking good for Banbridge, two holes up.

Peter Hillen and Conor Mulholland had to watch as their opponents sank putts from all over the place. They hung on bravely to only lose by four holes.

One game to go and Banbridge had a two hole lead. Could Gareth Moody and Gareth Matthews hold on? The answer, sad to say is no.

The Lisburn men won this game quite easily and Banbridge were called in.
