The course had to be shortened to avoid very damp areas with five ‘par threes’ on the front nine which reduced the par to 32.

Despite the increased number of par threes there were surprisingly few birdie twos. Stephen Shaw (4) was the only competitor to score two twos. This helped him towards a total 24 points which was sufficient to win Division 1. Martin Lilly (7) second, finished one point behind with Richard McDermott (6) edging out John Price for third place on count back.

John Dale hit the ‘shot of the day’ when he holed his second shot at the ‘par three’ ninth for five points. This raised his tally to eight!
