Luke wins the Thursday Open while Graham is Logan winner

There were two competitions last Thursday for the members of Banbridge Golf Club and visitors.

Firstly, there was the Open Stableford competition, which seems to be growing in popularity each week.

Then there was the Logan Cup, which is a special competition for players with a handicap of 18 and above.

The Open Stableford was won by Luke Woods (4), who seems to be enjoying a rich run of form. Luke had 40 points.

Runner-up was Paddy Malcolmson (16) with 39 points. A ding at the 17th hole cost Paddy victory.

Third was Michael Beattie (17) with 38 points. And that was despite having double bogeys at 5,9, 10 and 17.

The best gross prize went to the long-hitting Dean Nicoletti (5) with a 72. Birdies at 2,6,9, and 14 certainly enhanced Dean’s card.

Graham Shannon (21) was a clear winner of the Logan Cup. Graham had 37 points and his nearest challengers were Aaron Buchanan (20) and Kieran Lennon (21) who both had 33 points. So it’s congratulations to both Luke Woods and Graham Shannon.
