Having scored only 17 points in the Club Stableford on Thursday, Stephen enlisted the services of Resident PGA Professional Michael McCrudden and a lesson with the local pro was certainly what the doctor ordered and he can look forward to picking up one of the fantastic prizes provided by sponsor DJ WES DISCOS.

A close second also with 42 points , just beaten on countback, was Sean Hasson. In windy conditions Jamie Vinnicombe kept the excellent scoring going to claim third place with 40 points. Andy Young played a flawless round to claim the gross prize.

Thursday’s Club Stableford saw members eager to get their cards in for the Spring League and Alan Loughery claimed victory with a fine score of 41 points.

Taking second place was Johnathon Forsythe with 40 points beating Kieran Doherty into third place on countback with the same score.

The Spring League sponsored by Donnelly and Taggart is always a huge draw for members as teams of three set out over six weeks to get as many cards in as possible through the club competitions.

With that comes the inevitable bit of pressure for players to get a good score in for the week with lots of banter throughout the pro shop before and after the round.

Up next are two club stablefords and the club’s first monthly medal strokeplay competition of the year.
