Mark wins charity event

This week’s competition at Lambeg GC was the Ian Murdoch /Captains Charity Day and the charity to benefit this year and chosen by the Captain John Greeran is RAMS and it looks like the club have raised over £1000 for this worthwhile charity.

The winner of the first prize and The Dougie Parker Memorial Trophy was Mark Toman (15) with 44pts.

Runner -up was Derek Porter (17) 42pts and third place after beating Brian McGonigle (20) on the count-back was Ritchie Gorman (18) with 41 pts.

Best Gross was won by Nichlaus Lavery 72. who also won the previous stroke competition sponsored by The Hair Parlour at Moira. Nichlaus had a net score of 56.

Second place was taken by Gary Scott with 58 net and third with the same score but beaten on the count-back was Ivor Harron . Best gross was won by John Oakes.

Club Match-play

The Club Match-Play competition came to a close with Frank Murray beating Ian Jefferson in a very close fought final. Frank winning on the 17th hole to win two and one.

Next week is the for The Rose Bowl, the final Major competition of the season. Prize giving and hospitality lunch will be held afterwards in the club house and a cheque will be presented to a representative from the R.A.M.S Charity.
