Martin is kingof the sweep

ON Wednesday 28th November the wider membership of Lurgan golfers were involved in the Wednesday Sweep competition.

It was a fourteen holes competition and the holes not being played were four, seven, thirteen and sixteen.

Martin King had the winning card. The 24 handicapper won with a mighty effort of 37 points for the regulation fourteen holes. A double bogey at the second was his only blip on this winning card. Par figures at holes one, three and five provided the early bliss. On the inward seven he boosted his chances with slick pars at holes twelve, fourteen, seventeen and eighteen. This cracking good score eased him three points clear of the pursuing field.
