McDowell and McLaughlin win at Foyle

THE final event of the City Cabs sponsored Mixed Competitions at Foyle was held on Tuesday evening with the Mixed Foursomes Final over 18 holes taking place between Sheila McLaughlin and John McDowell and Lorna Thompson and Cormac Cassidy.

In what was a very competitive match Lorna and Cormac were one up playing the 18th but Sheila holed an excellent long putt to take the match up to the19th where Sheila and John won to take the Margaret Lapsley Mixed Foursomes Trophy.

However the real winners in these very popular Mixed Competition is The Darren Clarke Cancer Charity with 600 being raised bringing the total raised so far to close on 4,000.

While in the Mixed Teams of Four Christine McCafferty, Faye McGrotty, Lawerance Powell and Neil Cooke finished with 50 points to claim first place.

The club sweep was won by Kevin McCallion (17) after he scored 42 points and Niall McGuinness (9) with 41 points was second.
