Michael had a front nine of 23 points that included seven pars and only two bogeys. He had a slow start to the back nine with a double bogey at the 10th, but he rallied with five pars and three single bogeys at the remaining holes, for a total of 21 points on the back nine and 44 points to win by one point.

Second with 43 points was Thomas Farren, he had 23 points on his front nine with seven pars and two bogeys. His back nine contained one double bogey, four bogeys and four pars for 20 points.

Third was Paul McFadden with 41 points, he had 22 points on his front nine with seven pars and two bogeys and a mixed bag on his back nine that included two birdies, three pars, two bogeys, one double bogey and one triple bogey for 19 points.

The first gross prize was won by Kevin Munster with a gross 73. He had a front nine of 37 with two bogeys and seven pars, his back nine of 36 contained two birdies, one bogey and six pars at the remaining holes.

Fourth place went to Damien McCready with 40 points He had 18th points on his front nine and 22 points on the back nine with the highlight being a birdie at the 18th and six pars .

Fifth was Declan McGeown with 40 points. Declan had a level par front nine with one birdie, one bogey and seven pars for 22 points. His back nine of 18 points was made up of five pars and four bogeys.

The second gross prize went to player of the year Fintan McAreavey again with a gross 73. Fintan had a level par front nine with three birdies, three pars and three bogeys. His back nine of 38 had only one bogey at the 17th and eight pars.

The senior prize was won by Seamus Patton with 38 points; Front nine prize Michael Walsh 21 points; Back nine prize Colm Doyle 23 points.

The vice-captain issued the customary challenge to club Captain Frank Gallagher for the annual trophy.

This year resulted in an overwhelming victory for Peter Graham and his carefully selected team by 9 matches to 3.

There was only one clear winner on the Captain’s side, Sean Ashe, otherwise all the matches were won or halved by the challengers. Both teams enjoyed the after match meal and good banter was had by all.
