Mitchell is number one of all the President’s men

Henry Hunter held his President’s Day at Carrickfergus Golf Club on Saturday (July 5), the winner being John Mitchell with 41 points.

Low Handicap winners were Sam McAllister (39 pts) and Ken Mitchell (38 pts). High handicap winners were Brian Lowry (40 pts) and Gary Spratt (39 pts). Jonathan Nelson won the Gross Prize (36 pts), Wallace Drummond won the Past President prize (35 pts), Tom Woods took the Seniors Prize (38 pts), Norman Kernaghan the Guest Prize (36 pts) and Jordan Hunter the Visitors’ Prize (31 pts).

At the Press Reception for Open Week (Saturday, July 26 to Saturday, August 2) the Captain thanked the sponsors for their support which enables the committee to put up over £5,000 for prizes and keep entrance fees at a very reasonable rate.
