As has happened quite a few time times this season, William had to depend not only on a better second nine but the competition committee had to go to te last six holes to get a result.

Montgomery had equal nines of 20 points and his last six holes produced 14 points - including a four-pointer - against 12 from runner-up John McFadden, who will regreat failing to score on the final hole when even a point would have given him overall victory.
