Moran wins Captain's Day

CONDITIONS were perfect at Greencastle on Saturday, for Iona Bar Golf Society's Danny Rigney's Captain's Day.

Gerard Moran (20) was the man of the day, with his winning score of 40 points, hot on his heels was Derek McFeely (17) coming second with 39 points and Martin Tierney (16) with 38 points was third and Bosco Kelly (15) with 37 points was fourth.

The Category 1 was claimed by Paul Kerr (11) after he scored 32 points, category two was won after a break of tie finish by Arthur McMenamin (21) who scored 36 points and Liam Tierney (24) with 32 points won the category three prize.

Charlie Kelly (13) with 19 points won the front nine and the back nine went after a BOT finish to Billy Brolly (20) who too scored 19 points and Paul Kelly won the Par 3's.

The team prize after a BOT finish was secured by Trevor Holmes, Gerard Kelly, Gerard Moran and Anthony Brolly who scored 52 points, the bottle prizes went to Bosco Kelly, Ted Brolly, Paul Kerr and Liam Tierney.

Liam Rigney (17) with 39 points won the visitors prize and the two's went to Martin Tierney, Topo Kelly, Jim Kelly, Trevor Holmes, Mark McMenamin and Eamon Curran.
