Mullan secures Captain's Day title

OVER 200 members and guests took part in Trevor Lewers' Captain's Day at Faughan Valley, in glorious sunny conditions, on Saturday.

Coming out on top was Stephen Mullan (19) after he scored 43 points, while a point adrift in second place was David Heaney (13) and Brian Gallagher (18) scored 41 points to claim third.

The in-form Bernard Kelly (3) secured the gross prize after he scored 75 gross points and Eileen Robb won the Ladies prize. The front nine went to Aidan O'Connor (23) after he scored 22 points and Ian Dunn (23) also scored 22 points to claim the back nine.

For the third year in a row former captain Gregory McGlinchey (8) with 37 points claimed the Past Captain's accolade, while Philip Smith won the Captain's guest prize.

Kevin Hunter (12) hit the longest drive at the 11th hole and Seamus Farren (28) was nearest the pin at the tenth hole.
