Mullan wins in prefect conditions

THE Ronnie Ross Open Stableford competition, at Faughan Valley, which had 82 entries, was played in glorious conditions.

Claiming first place was Stephen W Mullan (20) with 41 points; in second spot was Cecil King (12) after he scored 40 points and third place went to Robbie Martin (17) after he scored 39 points.

The front nine was claimed by Barry O'Connor (13) when he scored 21 points and George Watson (24) also scored 21 points won the back nine.

Robert Hayes hit the longest drive at the 11th, while Kevin Hunter (13) was nearest the pin at the 10th hole. The lady winner was Catherine O'Neill and Elizabeth Mullan was second.

On Sunday in the open stableford competition Eddie McColgan (19) with 40 points claimed first place, while Owen McGuinness (20) with 39 points was second and third spot was won by Barry Reilly (17) after he finished with 38 points.

In the Midweek Open stableford competition Alan Cheung (19) with 41 points secured first spot after a BOT finish, from Ben Kilgore (18), while also on 41 points in third place was Bernard Kelly (5), also after a BOT finish.
