Murphy cards 44 points to seal victory

COLIN Murphy carded an outstanding 44 points to win the RK Rodgers Memorial Competition at Carrickfergus Golf Club on Saturday.

Low handicap winners were Jim Fittis (39 points) and Darren Awin, Jim McIlwaine and Eamon Kelly who each scored 38 points.

High handicap winners were Fred Williams (41 points), John Russell (41 points), Ken Smyth (40 points), and Peter Dinsdale (40 points).

Graeme Arthur won the Gross Prize with 35 points off scratch, while Sander Connor won the Senior’s Gross prize with 39 points.

The Ladies’ Section played a 12-hole competition in midweek and it was Angeline McWilliams who came out on top with 25 points.
