NW LADIES GOLFING ALLIANCE CAPTAIN’S DAY

The Ballymena golfer saw some 76 competitors battle it out in very cold conditions and Margaret saw Killymoon’s Edith Hall take the Captain’s Prize with a score of 36 points. Edith finished two points up on Ballycastle’s Doreen Reid who scored 36.

In Section A Elaine Taylor (Castleroc GC) was tops with 35 points from Thelma Smith (Portstewart GC) on 34. Third place went to Mary Travers (PGC) for her 33 and fourth to J Parkhill (Ballycastle GC) for 32.

Section B was won by Portstewart’s Julie Corbett with 33 points scored from Pat Brockerton of the Castlerock Club with 32. After countback Rosie Millar and Pat Lowe took third and fourth places, again with 32 points each.

The Casement Cup was also presented on the night with the best three scores coming from Ballycastle’s Rita McCormick, S Crawford and Liz Dowds.
