It’s open week at Foyle Golf Club with a host of top prizes on offer.

The action continues today (Wednesday) with the McCartney & Co Accountants Stableford competition, including Ladies 9 Hole Competition.

Tomorrow is the Ladies Club competition, which also has a Men’s 18 Hole competition, Friday sees the First Trust Bank stableford competition down for decision and on Saturday the Adairs Gas & Appliances’ stableford competition will take place.

Friday’s competition was claimed by Sean Ferry (18) after he scored 39 points and David Wilson (10) with 37 points finished in second spot and the CSS was 37 points.

Wednesday’s Crumley Construction Monthly Medal witnessed some exceptional scoring.

Nine handicapper Kieran Duffy producing a level par round, Kieran had a modest three over par first nine, with his game sparkling on the back nine with birdies at the 11th, 12th and 16th holes for a three under par nine and 71 shot total giving him a nett 62 winning score in the low category.

President’s Day winner Tom Gillespie (24) continued his rich vein of form to win the high category with a nett 59 and in doing so incurred an exception scoring reduction making for a seven shot reduction on his playing handicap.

Meanwhile Kay Doherty’s Lady Captain’s Day at Greencastle saw Angela Agnew (36) with 38 points come out on top after a break of tie finish after she seen off Pauline McQuillan (26).

Third was Maureen Keys (18) with 37 points and Gemma McClenaghan (1) with 35 points won the gross prize and Ann Bonner (25) with 35 points won the committee prize.

The men’s 11 hole competition was won by William Green (20) after he scored 30 points, second was Declan Carlin (18) with 29 points guest’s prize went to Pauline Sloane (20) with 25 points and Margaret Fisher (31) from the North West won the visitor’s prize after scoring 18 points.
