Over 100 points for winning team

LAST Saturday was a pretty good day at Edenmore with the weather set fair and all things looking good.

There was an excellent turnout for the competition which took the form of a four man team stableford competition with the best two players stableford points scores counting at each hole and all four scores counting on the ninth and eighteenth holes. The overall winners with a fantastic score of 102 pts was the team of Ian Blemmings, Chris Stewart, David Reid and Andy Ellis.

Second place with 96 pts went to Simon George, David McEwen, David Donnell and Jonny Lonsdale. Third spot was just one point adrift on 95 pts from the team of Jim Uprichard, Stephen Hylands, David Allen and Lyle Hamilton.

The Monday 50+ Open Stableford was won by Edenmore’s Tom Crooks scoring 40 points. Bill Henderson took second place with his 39 pts. Third place went to the match and handicap secretary Tom Chapman scoring 38 pts. The Wednesday stableford competition was won by Ian Barron scoring 42 pts, David Erwin took second with 40 pts and Martin Wright had 38 pts to take third place. Paddy Agnew stepped in to take the gross with his round of 74 strokes.
