Paul nets last summer prize

The Club Sweep played on Saturday was the last summer competition of the year.

Paul McCabrey had a brilliant gross 66, which represented 42 points off 2.

Another man on top form at the moment is Tony Henderson who lifted second prize with 41 points off 10. Third place went to Neale McKinstry. Peter Cummins, in a year which saw him lift the Leinster Boys’ Under 15 Championship, lifted the gross prize with 34 gross points.

Kieran Magee had his best round in some time to run up 40 points, but he became the second victim in recent weeks to fall foul of the ‘must sign your card’ rule and his efforts had been all for nothing.

Timmy Jenks lifted the low section with 39 points off 12. Last week’s winner Barry Creaney continued with his form to score 39 and lift the middle section.

Andrew Best’s 38 left him just one short of the prizes, but he will be happy he returned to the clubhouse with all of his golfing equipment present and correct.

Stephen Cordner’s had 40 points gave him the high section.
