Philip on course for career in golf industry

IF you're aiming to make a living out of golf, you might as well take the advice of the people at the top.

And that’s exactly what Ballymena teenager Philip Moore did last week when he had the ear of PGA Tour ace Darren Clarke.

The former Ryder Cup player officially opened the Darren Clarke Golf School at Greenmount, Antrim.

Among those present was former Cambridge House pupil Philip, who has been through the school and who is now undertaking a PGA Applied Golf Management course at Birmingham University.

Director Karl Morris said the school offers a unique opportunity to young golfers to maximise their potential in golf, education and personal development.

Working in partnership with Northern Regional College, the school provides a two-year full-time programme specifically designed to ensure aspiring 16-year-olds and over maximise their potential both on and off the golf course.

Adrian McNeice, Head of School for Sport, Leisure and Tourism at NRC, said: “Working in partnership with the Darren Clarke Golf School we help students create a career path into the golfing and associated industries.”
