Pippy wins it in style

The ladies recently competed for a prize donated by Eileen Keville, as well as supporting the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity, and the winner was Pippy Clarke with a great score of 40 pts.

This is Pippy’s first win of the season and she did it in style and will see her reduce her handicap by two shots to 33. Pippy made her score by paring 3 of the 4 par threes and hopefully this will inspire her on to greater things and to keep her handicap going in the right direction.

The gross prize went to Annabel Wilson with 30 gross points. Annabel had two birdies at 1 and 11 but was undone by failing to score at the 14th and by finishing double bogey, bogey, par but while Annabel would probably like to have done better it’s still the best score of the day.

The section one winner was Orla O’Dowd with 38 pts. The only surprise about Orla winning a prize is that she hasn’t done it sooner as she plays some lovely golf but just seems to be unlucky in getting in over the finishing line. Orla started her day with a tidy birdie at the first, which set the tone for her round, and she followed this with pars at 5, 6 and 7 to set up her score which she maintained on the back 9.

Section two went to Lady Captain Pam Graham with 36 pts. Pam proves that taking on responsibility in the club doesn’t necessarily mean it will have a negative impact on your golf as she is enjoying great form this year and at the halfway stage is leading the order of merit.

The section three prize went to Lily Woods with 34 pts. Lily has recently been seen playing a few more holes of social golf with her friend Kate Kelly and this bit of extra practice is obviously paying dividends in competitions.
