Both players gave it their all but it was Kieran who was eventually crowned champion thanks to his second place finish in Thursday’s Club Stableford.

It was certainly an exciting finish to the revered competition and at one point on Saturday Andy thought he was right back in it as he led early on, but as the day progressed so did the other scores.

With both men scoring 35 points on the last day, Andy ultimately had to settle for second place. Liam Berryman held on to claim third place overall despite a late surge from Eamon Barkley. All three can now look forward to some amazing prizes courtesy of sponsor, Resident PGA Professional Michael McCrudden.

Thursday’s Club Stableford saw senior member Bernie Weavers play out of his skin to take the victory over Kieran Berryman thanks to a better back 9 total, both scoring 40 points. Gary Campbell took third place thanks to an excellent score of 39 points. Saturdays Club Stableford was sponsored by Reflections/T&F Framing and saw better weather providing much improved course conditions.

It was also ‘The Weakenders’ Captains Day, a members’ society within the club which has been running for many years now and which contains a variety of colourful characters. Willie Scott shot a simply magnificent round, consisting of 10 pars and 3 birdies to give him 47 points and the win. Martin Rafferty also played well to score 44 points to finish second with John Harron taking third with 41 points. Kieran Berryman claimed the gross prize.
