The event, hosted at the scenic Castlerock Golf Club on Thursday, 10th September, is open to golfers of all skills and everyone is warmly welcome. Among the prizes on offer is the chance to win a brand new car from Curtis Peugeot Coleraine for anyone who sinks a hole-in-one at the par three, ninth hole.

Launching the event, Michael Blaney, Managing Director at Autoline Insurance Group, said: “We have been amazed by the momentum our 40th Anniversary campaign has gathered over recent months. We thought it was an ambitious number, but with the support we have received from local businesses, suppliers, customers and staff, we are on course to exceed our target.

“It is a great position to be in knowing that all 40 charities are in line to receive more than £1,000 each and with more great events like the Charity Golf Day at Castlerock, we will continue to raise much needed funds, and have lots of fun in the process!”

Since teeing off the fundraising challenge in February, a number of successful fundraising initiatives, including a hike up Slieve Donard in April and a Gala Ball in June, have enabled Autoline to exceed its original target of £40,000 in just over six months. Nominated charities, which include the RNLI, Brain Injury Foundation, Cancer Research UK and Epilepsy Action Northern Ireland, now stand in line to receive over £1,000 each.

Fiona Cambridge, NI Broker Business Manager from AXA Insurance Northern Ireland, said: “AXA are delighted to be the main sponsor for this event which is part of a unique charitable campaign. It promises to be a great day with some fantastic prizes up for grabs, so I would encourage any local golfers to sign themselves up before all the spaces are gone.”

Angela Stewart, Commercial Manager at Autoline Coleraine, added: “Our customers have really got into ‘the swing’ of Autoline’s 40th Anniversary charity campaign, from Limavady to Ballycastle, Ballymoney and Coleraine. We’re really grateful to AXA Insurance and Curtis Peugeot for sponsoring the Castlerock Golf Day and are looking forward to a great event to raise funds for some very deserving local charities.”
