Qualifier at Brown Trout

The weekend competition at the Brown Trout was a qualifying event played in better-ball format with the winning pair representing the club in the area final at Strabane Golf Club on Friday 22 July.

Two high handicappers combined well to win by two points.

Gary Hamilton (19) played off 14 with Ryan Smyth (22) off 17 could afford the luxury of dropping shots at six holes and had 22 front nine points before adding 24 the highlight Ryan grabbing a birdie at the 17th for a winning total of 46 points.

In runner-up place with 44 points was Ronnie Milliken (7) off 5 and Tom Boyd (11) off 8. They opened with 11 straight pars before scoring birdies at 12 and 13 and parred the remaining five holes to finish two under par completing their round without dropping a shot to par!

The Charity to benefit from the proceeds is the National Council for the Blind in Ireland.
