Quarter-finals of Matchplay Championship

SEVEN of the eight matches in round three of the Mixed Foursomes Championship have been completed.

The match of the round pitted the Lady Captain, Mary Dooher, and her husband, up against the Men’s captain, William McCandless, and his wife. Mary and Declan won with something to spare.

The defeat of the hot favourites, Anne and Paul Magennis, by Kevin Smyth and Hilda Caughey, was a major shock.

Glennis and Walter Smyth beat Tom Nelson and Bronagh Sands.
