Results in the Brown Trout League

Week six of the Star Fuels Sponsored Winter League was completed at the weekend at Brown Trout Golf Club.

With the team at the bottom, after week five, returning the best two individual cards and claiming six points and the top team finishing last for the second week in a row for only one point, this closes up the league with any of the six teams capable of winning!

Team Doubles with 82 points, their best two scores came from the weeks individual sweep winner Alan Smyton who opened with 23 front nine and added 19 for a total of 42. Team-mate Chris Dempsey runner-up played steady golf scoring 20 points each nine for 40 points.

Team Paraffin took the five points for second place with a team score of 76.Team captain Paddy Kelly with 38 and David Wilson also with 38.

Burnglow just one point back with a team score of 75 received four points with team captain Robert Orr best with 39 (third in the sweep)with nines of 17 and 22 and William Pyper adding 36.

Team Anthracite finished in fourth place with 72 for three points with the best card from Tommy McCloskey on the 37 point mark.

In fifth place Phurnacite ended up with 70 with Colin McConaghie best with 38. Captains Coal leading from week one scored 68 with these coming from team captain Ronnie Milliken and Seamus Doherty each scoring 34.

Twos were shared by T.Cupples,T. McGowan and R.Orr.
