Richard and Morris tops
CONGRATULATIONS go to the fourball pairing of Richard Budd and Morris Lyness at Lurgan.
They recently captured the other major matchplay title in the club. In the club fourball final they defeated father and son Jim and Jason McCann by a score of 3/2.
Through the opening nine the winners established a three holes advantage. Through the tenth the margin was four holes. The McCann’s fought a rearguard action and by the fourteenth they had reduced the deficit to just one hole.
However a birdie and par by Richard Budd on holes fifteen and sixteen consigned them to defeat.
