Rockmount golfers raise almost £10k for cancer charity

Throughout 2015 Rockmount Golf Club Captains Eddie Donaldson and Margaret Harrison have been instrumental in raising almost £10,000 for charity.

They organised various fund raising events with the members in order to support their chosen charity - The Friends of the Cancer Centre, based at the Belfast City Hospital.

Some of the events involved golfers swapping their caps for helmets as they took to the bicycles.

Nearly 40 members took part in the Newcastle Ride on a very wet and cold Sunday 26th April and were indebted to the Mourne Golf Club for the use of their facilities.

On Sunday 30th August nine members took part in the 85 mile ‘Lap the Lough’ cycle ride and gathered quite a bit of sponsorship.

Atthe cheque presentation, Eddie and Margaret thanked all the members for their support in helping raise these vital funds for their chosen charity.
