It happened at the sixth hole where Roy’s tee shot at the par three hit the concrete boundary of the lake, bounced high in the air and finished six feet from the flag. Roy and his playing partner Kenny Gilmore were playing a crunch match against Norman McNellis and Chris Scott.

Both pairs were undefeated but when Roy holed his putt for a net ‘one’ he put his team two ahead. They went on to win on the seventh green and claim the outright lead in Group 8.
