The Cairndhu Golf Club trio of dad John and his sons, Ryan and Marc, are each looking forward to major tournaments next month.

Ryan McKinstry has been selected for a two-man team to represent Great Britain at the University Games in Peru, which are set to take place at the end of April.

He finished second in the British University Championship last year, and has racked up world ranking points in many of the championships throughout Ireland.

Before he jets off to South America, he will be part of an eight-man senior Irish panel to compete in south Wales.

Ryan’s brother, Marc, has been selected to represent Ireland Under-16s at next month’s Four Nations Championship in Holland (April 13-18).

He will compete against players from Wales, Scotland and Holland at the tournament.

Marc finished second in the Order of Merit last year to stake a major claim for selection for this prestigious event.

And John McKinstry, the current Ulster Boys’ Captain, has been appointed Manager of the Ireland Under-16 team and will look after team affairs in Holland in trying to win the Four Nations Trophy.

“This is obviously a great honour and has been made even better by my son’s selection on the team,” he said.
