Edenmore’s final pairing of Sandra Boomer and Daryl Jameson kept their cool to secure the final all-important point to keep the trophy at the club for another year. It capped off a great weekend for Sandra, who had won the first individual prize of the summer the day before (see below).

The Lady Captain, Margaret Robinson gave Lady Captain Claire Johnston from Dunmurry Golf Club and her team a very warm welcome on Sunday afternoon for the match, which was played over 14 holes. The teams consisted of 16 lady members from each club and all enjoyed the mild, sunny afternoon. Edenmore was in good condition and played well for all the ladies.

spring trophy

Meanwhile, the first individual trophy of the season was handed out on Saturday as Sandra Boomer topped the field.

Playing off a nine handicap, Sandra took top spot with 27 points over 14 holes.

Meanwhile, Caroline Watson scored her first hole in one at the fourth hole.

She played a lovely hybrid club at the 125 yard par three. What a great start to Caroline’s golfing season.
