Shuan shines on a day of high scoring at Silverwood

In first place with 44 points was Shuan Stevenson with an excellent 24 points on his front nine with one birdie , five pars and three single bogeys.

His back nine of 20 points had five pars, two single bogeys, one double bogey and one triple bogey to win by three points.

In second place was Peter McAtasney with 41 points thanks 18 points on the front nine with one birdie, three pars, two double bogeys and three single bogeys. His back nine of 23 points had one birdie, two bogeys and six pars for a strong finish to his round.

In third place again with 41 points was Dessie Henderson. He had 20 points on his front nine with a birdie, two pars, one double bogey and five bogeys. His back nine of 21 points included one birdie, three pars, one triple bogey and four single bogeys.

The gross prize was won by in-form Ethan Headley with a gross 71. He had a front nine of level par with two birdies, two bogeys and five pars.

His back nine contained two birdies, one bogey and six pars for another sub-par round for this impressive junior player.

Fourth place was collected by Gareth Magee for the second week running. He had 17 points on his front nine with the highlights being two birdies and two pars and on the back nine of 23 points had six pars, one double bogey and two single bogeys.

Fifth place went to Martin McCann with 40 points, he had 19 points on the front nine, and 21 points on his back nine with two birdies.

The junior prizes were won by 1st Dara Morgan 40 pts; 2nd Aaron Doyle 40 pts; and 3rd James Judge 37 pts.

The senior prize was won by Joseph Kelly with 38 pts.
