Castle Hume had won the first leg by 5 matches to nil and were 15 holes up. The return leg was never going to be easy. In the lead match Sam Moore & Eddie Rowan came from one down to win 2 up. Billy Friars and Ciaran Lyness, out second, were always in control winning by 4&3. Barry Cathcart and David Payne secured a third win for Lisburn at the 17th to put the score at 5-3 for Enniskillen. The two matches still on the course were evenly balanced but with holes running out for Lisburn it became clear that even if they won the last 2 matches, there were insufficient holes left to secure victory for Lisburn.

These matches were called in and the competition referee Patsy McCaffrey on behalf of GUI called the final score at 6-4 in favour of Castle Hume. Mr. Peter Sinclair (Chairman of Ulster Branch of GUI) was on hand to congratulate both teams and to make the presentation of the gold medals to the Castle Hume team and the silver medals to the Lisburn team in the club house afterwards. Paul Smyth the team captain of Lisburn has clearly done a great job with the Lisburn team in reaching the quarter finals in 2011, the semi-finals in 2012 and the final in 2013.
