Steady scoring pace gives Declan Silverwood spoils

The best score on the day was recorded by Declan McGeown with 40 points and this was good enough to with the low section.

Declan had 20 points on the front nine with one birdie at the 8th hole, three bogeys at the 2nd, 5th and 6th holes and five pars. He had another 20 points on his back nine with one birdie at the 14th, five pars at the 11th 12th, 13th, 17th and 18th holes and three bogeys for a two over par 74.

In second place was Owen Gallaghan with 39 points, he had 19 points on his front nine with one birdie at the 4th, one double bogey at the 7th, four pars at the 2nd ,3rd 8th and 9th holes and three bogeys. His back nine of 20 points again included one birdie at the 18th , four pars at the 12th, 13th, 14th and 17th holes, one double bogey at the 11th and three bogeys.

Third was Patrick McKeown again with 39 points, he had 19 points on his front nine, with only two bogeys at the 5th and 6th holes and seven pars and it was the same again on the back nine, with another two bogeys on the 10th and 16th holes and seven pars.

The gross prize was won by Kevin Munster with a gross 74. He had a front nine of level par 35 with one birdie at the 9th, one bogey at the 3rd and seven pars. His back nine of 39 contained two bogeys at the 10th and 16th holes and seven pars for a solid round of golf.

The winner in the middle section was Kevin Carson with 38 points. Kevin had 20 points on his front nine with the highlight being a birdie at the 8th , two pars at the 4th and 7th holes and six bogeys. His back nine had three pars at the 13th, 15th and 18th holes, four bogeys and two double bogeys at the 10th and 16th holes.

Michael Frazer was next with 38 points, he had 21 points on his front nine with three pars at the 4th, 7th and 8th holes and six bogeys and 17 points on his back nine that had one birdie at the 14th, five single bogeys and three double bogeys.

Third place went to Eamon Magill with 37 points, he had 22 points on his front nine with one birdie at the 8th hole, five pars at the 2nd 3rd, 4th 6th and 9th holes and three bogeys. On the back nine his 15 points had two pars at the 14th and 17th holes.

In the high section first place went to Philip Colvin with 39 points, he had 19 points on his front nine with two pars on the 6th and 9th holes, one double bogey and six bogeys. His back nine had three pars at the 10th, 12th and 14th holes, one triple bogey at the 16th hole and five bogeys for 20 points.

Second was Ernest McBride with 38 points, he had 19 points on his front nine with one birdie at the 7th hole, three pars at the 1st 2nd and 3rd holes, two bogeys and three triple bogeys.

His back nine of another 19 points had two pars at the 12th and 13th holes and a mixture of double and single bogeys.

Third spot was claimed by Kieran McAlinden with 36 points. He had 20 points on his front nine, with two pars on the 6th and 8th holes and 16 points on his back nine with three pars at the 12th ,14th and 15th holes.

The senior winner was Henry Noble with 38 points while the junior winner was James Judge with 35 points.
