The score was tied at 2-all after the home leg in Banbridge so the odds now favoured Rossmore. It was going to take a very special performance for Colin’s team to win two and a half points over the very testing Co. Monaghan course.

James Bryson and Dominic Quinn would consider themselves something special and so they are. They won the last two holes to win their game 2 up.

Brian Knox and Darren Barker are also a top pairing. They played wonderfully to win three and one.

Rossmore hit back in game number three. Gerry Blevins and Victor McNeill were well beaten, 6 and 4.

Everything depended on the last game. Banbridge were 4-3 ahead and 2 holes up. It was far from over.

Sean McGreevey and Robert Haire rose to the occasion, big time. It was a tense situation but they kept calm. Sean and Robert won a tight game by 2 and 1.

Banbridge progress into the quarterfinals thanks to a 3-1 win away and a 5-3 win on aggregate.
