Team 20 lead the way

WITH the third card returned in the Pitchers Restaurant Spring League at Foyle, Team 20 of Gary Cassidy, Roy Martin, Noel Martin and Adrian Brown top the leader board after returning a fine score of 97 points for an accumulated total of 297 points.

They now hold a four point lead over Team 17 of David Stevenson, Sean Sands, Paul McEleney and Neil Cooke, with seven cards still to play and the chasing pack in close contention as the teams chase the eight places on offer in the match play stages of the league.

In third place at the minute is Team 8 of Tony McGinley, Paul McLaughlin, David Knox (Jun) and Anthony McMonagle who currently have 289 points.

Foyle Sunday Society had another excellent turnout at the weekend with the competitors having to endure showery conditions which had no effect on the scoring as Dermott Harkin (18) compiled an outstanding winning score of 50 points closely followed in second place by Andrew Temple (14) with 48 points which would have been a winning score on most days, with Martin McEleney (18) following in third with 47 points.

The juvenile section went to Caolan McLaughlin (10) after he scored 38 points.

The Easter Egg competitions was claimed by Joe Doran (14) after he scored 25 points and Joe Bradley (22) with 27 points.

The Pitchers Restaurant Spring League continues daily as does the Easter Egg competitions and the Sunday Society golfers are reminded to book their own tee times.
