Team 20 maintains lead

WITH four cards returned in the Pitchers Restaurant Spring League at Foyle, Team 20 of Gary Cassidy, Roy Martin, Noel Martin and Adrian Brown having returned another fine score of 97 points for an accumulated total of 394 points have a nine point lead over the chasing pack at this early stage in the qualifying stages of the league.

Second place is Team 8 of Tony McGinley, Paul McLaughlin, David Knox (Jun) and Anthony McMonagle who have 385 points and Team 2 of David Knox, Stuart Gauld, Paddy Coyle and John McDowell with 381 points are currently in third spot.

Foyle Sunday Society continues to grow in popularity with 70 plus members enjoyng the Sunday Society Competitions and with another excellent entry at the weekend on a fine Winters day, the very popular Sunday Society Captain Paul McEleney (14) took centre stage returning a fine score of 45 points to register his first win of the season, he was closely followed in second place by Martin McCallion (23) with 44 points and Jay Lucas (11) with 43 points was third after a break of tie finish.

The juvenile section went to Oran Canning (26) after he too scored 43 points and the Easter Egg competitions saw Tony McGinley (8) with 25 points claim the category 0-11.

Foyle Men’s Golf Club will hold heir 18th Annual General Meeting next Monday, at 7.30pm, in Foyle Golf Centre and all members are asked to attend and participate fully in the meeting.

The Pitchers Restaurant Spring League continues daily as does the Easter Egg competitions, while the Sunday Society continues this weekend.
