Coming towards the end of July there is still a lot of interest in the team competitions.

Last Sunday the Ulster Fourball team fought out a thrilling draw away at Edenmore GC.

The tie was settled at 2.5 games each heading to the return at Lurgan.

Wins for Alastair McCaffrey and Terry King and Terry Eagers and Michael Lavery were well deserved.

John Doherty and Robbie McVeigh negotiated a vital halve match.

In second leg at home Lurgan could not quite match their opponents and so made their exit from the competition.

Last Friday night in a Senior Cowdy quarter-final match Lurgan played Banbridge.

With home advantage Lurgan trailed by 18 points to 14 and this makes their task away extremely difficult.

The Lurgan team comprised Brian Scullion, Lawrence McGrady, Michael McSherry, Sean Toman, Philip Shaw, Chris Gilkinson and David and Peter Magee.
