The King helps Lisburn GC raise £1k for charity

Last month, Lisburn Golf Club was the venue for a special charity evening.

The club’s Lady Captain Mrs Margaret Boyd. who is nearing the end of her term in the post, was very keen to hold a ladies’ night to raise money for her nominated charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event was well supported by the Lisburn lady members and the clubhouse was packed full with their friends and family.

On arrival, guests were welcomed by the Lady Captain and received a complimentary glass of wine to get the evening started.

With everyone in a relaxed mood, the ladies were delighted to hear that Elvis was in the building in the form of local entertainer Andy Rodgers.

Andy soon had everyone on their feet dancing to many classic Elvis hits including Suspicious Minds, Wooden Heart, Jailhouse Rock and Love me Tender.

Lady Captain Margaret was delighted that everyone had enjoyed the evening, which proved a great success in raising a fantastic £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Margaret also thanked her committee for their help in organising the night and gave a word of thanks to all the ladies who had generously provided the prizes for the ballot.
