Tierney wins Iona Captain’s Day

This year’s event took place at Castle Hume Golf Club and in perfect weather conditions Martin Tierney (14) with 35 points claimed first prize, second was Gerard Moran (17) after he scored 33 points and third spot after a break of tie finish was Jim Kelly (22) who finished with 32 points.

Des Elliott (14) with 30 points won the category 1 prize also after a BOT finish, the category 2 winner was Raymond Curley (19) with 30 points, Liam Tierney (25) with 32 points won the category 3 section.

Din Tracey (11) with 18 points won the front nine and Bosco Kelly (14) with 17 points won the back nine. Gerard Moran won the bottle hole at the second and Ciaran Curran claimed the bottle at the 17th hole.

The team prize was claimed by Trevor Holmes, Gerard Moran, Terenece McMenamin and Danny Ridgney after they scored 49 points. The Captain’s prize par three’s had joint winners Eamon Curran and Ciaran Curran who scored 11 points and the two’s were won by Des Elliott X2 and Ciaran Curran 1.
