The Trustees Cup was the highlight of the week with some amazing prizes to be won courtesy of O’Kane’s Service Station.

The competition was played in a four ball better ball format, over two days and with the best score from either day being chosen.

There were the usual predictable pairings and a few interesting ones as players were keen to get a good result for a chance at one of the great prizes. Up stepped defending champions Barry Toland & Bryan McCartney to once again lift the title with a fantastic score of 47 points. Barry and Bryan were always going to be a hard act to follow with a good mix of young and old.

Having won the cup last year the pair weren’t going to let it go without a fight.

Big hitting Bryan played solidly with consistent long drives as short game wizard Barry played his part with a fine display of chipping and putting. Runners up were Alan Dallas and Eamon Barkley with 46 points.

Third place also with 46 points but beaten on count back were Stephen Boyd and Robert Godfrey.

Andy Young will be over the moon as he claimed second place, seeking to overtake Kieran Berryman in the run in for golfer of the year. He scored 38 points and will be keeping a close eye as the leader board is updated next week. Bryan Donaghy took third place with 37 points.

Up next at Roe Park is an open stableford hosted by The National Trust and a Club Stableford sponsored by The One Stop Car Service Centre.
