Toughconditions to start the new year

With a 39 points three way break of tie needed to decide the prize winners.

Society Captain Declan McKinney (13) took top honors virtue of his well compiled back nine having birdies at the sixteenth and eighteenth.

In second and third place respectively were Hugh Doherty (12) and Martin Tope (6).

The Juvenile Christmas competition went to Robert Coyle (16) after he scored 47 points, second on 46 points was Oran Harkin (20).

David Knox (9) with 41 points won the category 0-9 section, the category 10+ went to Caolan Dunn (10) with 44 points. Tony Harkin (14) with 42 points won the first day prize and Jack Kennedy (12) with 22 points won the back nin after a break of tie finish.

The Fifteenth Annual Dinner and Prize presentation for the Desmond Motors Winter League will take place at Pitchers this Friday, with proceedings getting underway at 8pm.

The meal is complimentary for all competitors in the competition with a nominal cost for guests places should be booked at the golf reception.

This week at Foyle sees the Easter Egg competition continuing daily, while the Pitchers Spring League gets underway on Saturday and the Foyle Sunday Society will be back again this weekend.

Meanwhile at City of Derry the recent competition was claimed after a BOT finish by Kevin Green (10) after he scored 27 points.

Also on 27 points in second spot was Michael McShane (15) and John Hanock (9) with 24 points was third also after a BOT finish and Alan Montgomery (13) also on 24 points was fourth.
