Turkey for Peacock at Rathmore

No it’s not a trade just a win for Robin Peacock in the Sunday Turkey competition.

The twenty-one handicapper came in with a score of 39 points over the eighteen holes in play to win by a margin of just one point. His five over par score for the opening seven holes gave him 18 points and better was to follow. Even with a couple of double bogies early in the back nine Robin dropped very few shots after them and won 21 points to go to his total of 39.

Bill Clarke was second with 38 from his mark of five. Just one shot went west during the first seven holes and this gave Bill 16 points. The birdies came thick and fast after that, a four at ten was followed by threes at twelve and sixteen with a two at fifteen squeezed in between. Bill scored 22 points back and 38 overall. Five handicap Uel Loughrey scored 38 points to take the third bird. The fourth and the tenth, both par fives, were birdied and the only shot Uel dropped came with a four at the short eleventh.

Paul Rohdich is in good golfing form at the minute whether it be at Rathmore or the Dunluce links and this form continued with a return of 37 points off five for the final bird of the day. He birdied the first two holes for a good start and added another three at the ninth to have 19 points for the opening seven of the winter layout. The tenth fell to a birdie four and but for a blank at eleven Paul could have challenged the leaders. He scored 18 back to finish on 37 points.
