Two ‘aces’ scored on consecutive days by young Andrew

What would the odds be on a member hitting two holes-in-one on consecutive days?

Well that’s exactly what young Andrew Cummins achieved over the weekend.

Andrew, part of the famous Cummins golfing dynasty at Lurgan Golf Club was out on the course on Friday evening for a ‘wee practice’ round in preparation for the Malcolm Trophy competition on Saturday when he hit his first ‘ace’ at the eighth.

Then on Saturday during the competition Andrew hit his second hole-in-one in two days at the 12th.

Playing with Sean Toman, Conall Coleman and John Horan, Andrew hit a small PW with a wee draw.

He knew it was close but didn’t see it go in as pin was tight to the bunker, blocking his view.

The guys all walked up and there was two balls a couple of feet from the hole, Conall checked them and they were his and John’s before looking into the hole and there was Andrew’s ball.

Andrew said it was a great feeling and the whole fourball were buzzing for the rest of the round.

However no drinks were purchased in the bar afterwards to celebrate as Andrew claimed he had total respect for playing partners who as ‘athletes’ respect their bodies and treat them as temples.

Section 1 Dee Farrell 69nett

Section 2 Diana McClelland 70 nett
