The 17 year-old’s meteoric rise from over 300th to 19th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings this season has led to her rubbing shoulders with the top golfers in the world.

And she proved she’s one of them by winning both of her points in Monday’s matches. In the morning, she combined with Emmma Spitz to win one up as Europe take on the USA. The same pair then won three and two in the afternoon foursomes.

At the time of going to press, Monday looked like being an even day in a tournament that Olivia had been very excited about.

“It’s going to be really good,” she told the ‘LEADER’ before jetting off to Germany. “It’s a little bit scary being the only one from GB&I but I’m so excited to take another step up.

“I’ve heard a lot about the American girls that we will be playing against so it will be great to see what they’re doing. A lot of their girls are in and around the top of the rankings so it will be great to go up against them and see how we fare.

“My goal next year will definitely be to become the world number one amateur. It’s been a crazy rise up the rankings this year so hopefully I can keep that going next season.”
